Defensive Fighting Systems is proud to offer self-defense training designed empower the women of our community.  The Women’s Self-defense program will build confidence, improve both physical and mental strength, and will teach skills that will help protect against a violent attack. The program is based on the combat system of Krav Maga.  Krav Maga is not a martial art and considered by many to be the best system for realistic street self-defense.  This foundational self-defense training program is designed to be taken by learners with no previous experience in a supportive, encouraging group environment.

Women’s Self-defense Objectives

At the end of the first month students will:

Inner Strength

  1. Foster an aggressive mindset: Go from thinking “What is he going to do to me” to “what am I going to do to him”
  2. Demonstrate a violent response to violence
  3. Practice and understand the limitations of verbal self-defense skills and other “soft” techniques
  4. Recognize non-verbal signs of aggression and danger
  5. Develop GRIT to improve the probability of surviving an attack

Outer Strength

  1. Understand the difference between just hitting an attacker and striking an attacker to cause injury
  2. Demonstrate simple and effective movements based on your body’s natural reactions under stress
  3. Train simple combatives (punches, knees, elbows, and groin kicks) to fend off attackers under stress
  4. Demonstrate aggressive and proper defense against being taken away or taken to the ground
  5. Demonstrate a proficiency in ground survival and escape from the ground

Expectations

During training students should expect to:

  1. be treated with respect at all times while learning in a safe environment
  2. have physical modifications suggested to them if I cannot safely perform a motion
  3. be physically active under the stress of training
  4. burn lots of calories and drink lots of water
  5. be challenged, encouraged, and inspired
  6. Change

 

Dates: One-hour sessions every Monday night

Time: 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Cost: total cost for Women’s Only training is $50 per person per month
